The unit does not require special oil like the clutch type limited slip differentials.īecause it uses gears instead of clutches, it requires virtually no maintenance. The helical limited slip differential is a torque sensing LSD that features smooth operation for street and race use. With an OBX LSD installed, the torque is transferred to the wheel with more traction while turning which translates into faster lap times, better drifting and overall performance for a much better driving experience. But if a one of the drive tires l oses traction, the wheel that has no traction will spin faster making the car less controllable and causing spin outs. While turning, an open differential will send more power to the outside wheel making turning easier. In a vehicle with a standard open differential, power is distributed equally across both wheels. There's a one way valve on the end of the pipe. Slide the new hose onto the vent nipple and attach the rest of the hose securely against the bulkhead with a cable tie. I have spoken to Mark Ashford at Courtenay and he confirmed that there is a kit available for this mod and that they had some in stock. Apparently this was never deemed as a recall but is acknowledged on TIS as a modification. The final drive end play check is made by inserting the measuring disc J into the bearing race of the transmission case.
